Frequently Asked Questions
- How long will the course take me?
Each of the 10 modules is designed to take 2-3 hours, so 20- 30 hours in total.
- What is the cost of the course?
The course is free for all CEO, Wollongong staff.
- Can I do the course from home?
Yes. You can do the course anywhere, at anytime. All you need is an internet connection.
- If I cant complete the course will I receive any level of accreditation? No - you will only receive accreditation for the course once you complete the entire course.
- Who can help me do the course?
Teachers may choose to do the course as a group, working together to share their skills, knowledge and learning experiences. There is a lot of value for schools if teachers choose to do this with other grade/stage/faculty members - you can organise after school group sessions. Support is also available from the Wollongong CEO Learning Technologies Education Officers.
- Will I receive release time to do the course?
This is a school-based decision and would require a conversation with your Principal. This is not a requirement of completion.
- I am not a teacher (e.g. support staff). May I do the course?
All Wollongong CEO staff are welcome to do the course.
- What PD recognition will I receive when I complete the course?
The course is recognised by the NSW Institute of Teachers and accredits you with 20 hours of teacher professional development. You will also receive a Certificate of Completion from the Wollongong CEO.
- What are the requirements of the course?
- attend a 1 hour course orientation meet and greet on the day the course begins (participants may choose to attend at the CEO or via VC)
- Participate and complete the 10 Modules
- Create a blog and post a reflection on your learning for each of the ten modules.
- Post a comment on a colleague's blog.
- Add a Final Course Reflection via a Google Form.
- Are there any pre-requisites to do the course?
No.
